After the launch of the first YotaPhone smartphone in the Indian market for Rs. 23,499 LAST MOUNTH, the Russian company, Yota Devices, is now set to introduce the YotaPhone 2 or YOTA PHONE on December 3 in London. The handset will be unveiled at an invite-only event.
The firm took to Twitter to ANNOUNCE that, "#YotaPhone2 will be presented December 3! We will celebrate with a by-invitation only event in London - stay tuned!." It also posted an image with the tweet that showed the YotaPhone 2 handset sporting the same dual-screen (with an E-Ink rear display) like its predecessor, but with visibly curvier edges.
The YotaPhone 2014 will include a touch-sensitive rear display, unlike the original yota launched last year. The rear low-power consumption display will also be able to handle more number of functions including calls, texts, emails and more. Though the smartphone runs Android, Yota Devices has not specified what Android version the smartphone will release with.
unveiled at mwc 2014, the YotaPhone 2 is said be more 'intuitive and interactive' than the first generation, with new hardware and software features. It is also significantly faster, featuring a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. The always-on E-Ink display is larger as well, at 4.7-inches (compared to the first generation YotaPhone's 4.3-inch).
The Android-based dual-screen smartphone features a full-HD 5-inch AMOLED front display, 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 processor with an Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and 2550mAh battery. The YotaPhone (2014) is a Nano-SIM device, and features 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, USB 3.0, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS with A-GPS and Glonass, apart from NFC connectivity.
